This is a trip primarily for new members this year, although other club members are very welcome.
We will paddle from Eagle through the city to Thorpe Green where we will stop for a picnic lunch before making the return journey. This is a trip of around 8 miles, but we will take it slow and steady with breaks along the way. There is one portage, at New Mills, but there will be help and support for getting in and out again.
This will be a trip in touring kayaks or tandem canoe.
We will meet at the club at 9.30 with the aim of being on the water for 10.00. We should be back at the club by 4.00 pm.
You will need to bring a change of clothes in a waterproof bag (please take them with you on the trip) and wear clothing appropriate to the weather, so a sun hat and sun cream if its hot weather. Please bring a packed lunch, snacks for on the water and plenty to drink if its warm, and a warm drink if its cooler.
