Tour the beautiful river Medway on the weekend of the 25th September 2026. Paddle 29km over 2 days from Tonbridge Castle to Allington Lock. This is a popular touring river and is graded as easy. There are about 7 canoe passes which are a fun way of going past locks without having to portage. There are 2 locks where we will have to walk round and get back in again downstream. We will camp at one of the campsites near the river for both evenings. This paddle is suitable for both canoeists and kayakers. You should be happy paddling 4 to 5 hours a day with breaks.
Cost: Camping costs will be up to £50pp for the weekend, I am waiting to hear about availability from 2 riverside campsites. Fuel costs will be shared between occupants of each vehicle and we will organise car sharing where possible. We will bring a club two ringed gas stove, tea/coffee supplies and simple breakfast food. Bring own lunch and snacks. We will eat at a pub on Saturday evening. There are possibly glamping options for extra cost.
