The last of our yearly whitewater progression series and we are going to the River Tryweryn, near Bala in North Wales.
Cost will be £120pp and will include travel*, camping, breakfasts and lunch on Saturday and Sunday, and dinner on Saturday. There will be additional river fees (£17 pp per day adults, £8.50 pp per day <18’s & registered students (id will be required at the centre).
Camping will be at Tytandderwen Camping & Caravan Park.
We will be looking to run this years trip differently to give those attending the skills to feel comfortable and competent to then be able to paddle grade 2 or grade 3 rivers as a "mates trip" - options for kayakers are:-
Unlocking the Upper - confident on grade 3 water, have a roll
Learning the Lower - learning to run the lower
We will leave Norfolk at various times on the Friday, and travel back on Sunday afternoon, arriving in Norwich on Sunday evening.
We have hired a van to take kayaks, paddling kit and camping kit. We will be relying on personal vehicles to get people there and also to be be able to move boats over the week end (so take roof racks with you).
We are hoping to offer this to both kayakers & experienced canoeists but this will depend on whether we have suitable cover for canoes.
*Travel is only included if taking a minimum of 3 persons who are also signed up on this trip; unless advised otherwise.
If you are unsure if this trip is for you, please speak to Martin or Pete if it is paddle related, or myself for anything non paddling.
If signing up, please ensure you answer the following questions by 24th July:-
Are you kayaking or hoping to canoe? (Must have own canoe); If kayaking - Upper or Lower group?
Do you need to borrow club kit? If so, which boat?
Can you shop for breakfasts and lunches?
Can you plan, shop for, and cook dinner on Saturday evening? (Willing assistants will be available).
Any dietary requirements?
Are you willing to drive the hire van?
Are you willing to take your own vehicle? If so, how many passengers can you take? (Kit should be in the van)
What time can you leave on the Friday?
