This is a local camping weekend based at Ferrygate Camping at Martham and is right next to the River Thurne, with its own launch site and is close to Hickling Broad.

It will be self-sufficient camping i.e. you will need to bring all your own camping and cooking gear and all your own meals. There won't be any group cooking. You will also need to bring sufficient drinking water with you as there is none on site. There are however toilets and hot showers.
The campsite cost is £17 per person per night, plus a small booking fee and there may be a contribution to firewood etc for a campfire on Saturday night.
The weekend is open to touring kayaks and very experienced canoeists (able to keep pace with the kayaks) as the intention is to do a longer trip on Saturday up to 24km (15 miles) and a shorter paddle on Sunday of around 14km (9 miles).
Although the pace will be very gentle and relaxed, you must be capable of doing those distances.
We will also probably do a short night paddle of around 4 miles on the Friday evening after dinner - although it is nearly the longest day so won't be that dark!
Depending on numbers, it may be possible for people to join for just one day or another. If this is of interest, please note on sign-up. Also, there is a £5/day launching fee for anyone not already staying at the campsite.
Sign up will initially be shown as shortlisted until numbers etc are known.
When you sign up please let me know the following:
