A trip up the River Ant, starting from and ending at Barton Turf (no shuttle!) The trip will be suitable for all canoeists, kayakers and paddleboarders happy with paddling 10km / 6 miles.
For those that need kit, I'll open the club at 9am; we'll aim to be away by 9.20. For those with all the kit they need, we'll meet at Barton Turn for 10am, with a view to being on the water by 10.30 or thereabouts.
We'll paddle upstream past Hunsett Mill (a Grand Design) and Wayford Bridge, and aim most likely for Dilham as our lunch stop/turn-around point. It's a lovely stretch of river, should be comparatively sheltered from the wind, and we've got a good chance of seeing some wildlife too. Fingers crossed for an otter!
When you sign up, please add a clear note on whether you need kit and so will meet us at the club, or whether you're self sufficient and will hence see us at the get-in.
NB for those that need to borrow kit, obviously we're slightly restricted when it comes to roof rack space for moving multiple boats around, but as always, we'll do our best.
