This is an open water trip suitable for all canoes and touring kayaks with some experience and capable of the distance, on open water. It'll be a cracking paddle, from the National Trust car park at Horsey Pump, heading to Hickling (for a pint at the pub owned by Norfolk Wildlife Trust - rude not to!) and back again. Long range weather forecast looks sensible; we'll keep it under review.
For those needing to borrow kit from the club, we'll meet there at 9am, with a view to leaving by 9.30. For those with their own kit, we'll see you at Horsey Pump for 10.15.
Make sure you bring boat, paddles, buoyancy aid, plus clothing and kit suitable for the weather. If it stays warm, that'll be hat, sunnies, sun cream etc. You'll also need plenty of fluids, and something to eat.
When signing up please let me know: Will you see us at the club, or at the get-in? What kit you need to borrow?
Note that as always, we'll be dependent on roof rack space to move those and borrows boats if needed. Also, I'll do a quick comb of attendees before the day to make sure you've got sufficient experience. On open water, if the wind picks up, the paddling can be quite challenging, and I want to keep everyone safe. If you're unsure, drop me an email or ask one of your regular coaches at the club!
Thanks all Si
